Fernando Alarid-Escudero es Doctor en Políticas de Salud con especialización en Ciencias de la Decisión por la Universidad de Minnesota. El Dr. Alarid-Escudero es profesor investigador en el Programa de Políticas de Drogas (PPD) en el Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, AC (CIDE) Región Centro en Aguascalientes, México. Su investigación se centra en el desarrollo de modelos estadísticos y matemáticos para identificar estrategias óptimas de prevención, control y tratamiento de diferentes enfermedades, y en el desarrollo de métodos novedosos para cuantificar el valor de futuras investigaciones. El Dr. Alarid-Escudero es parte de la Red de Modelos de Intervención y Vigilancia del Cáncer (CISNET), consorcio de investigadores patrocinados por el Instituto Nacional de Cancerología (NCI) de Estados Unidos que se enfoca al uso de modelos de simulación para mejorar nuestra comprensión del impacto de las intervenciones de control del cáncer (por ejemplo, prevención, detección y tratamiento) sobre las tendencias de la población en la incidencia y la mortalidad.
